Who we are

The Big Move is run by Caleb's Tech Safari Pty Ltd ("Tech Safari"). In this notice, "we" means Tech Safari.

What we collect on this website

This website has no accounts. The only personal information we ask for is in the newsletter sign-up form, described below.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and gives us only aggregated figures such as page views, referrers, country and device type.

Our host, Vercel, keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address, browser and time of request) to run and secure the site.

Joining the community

When you choose Join, a sign-up form opens on this website. It asks for your email address, which is required, and your first name, which is optional.

When you submit the form, your details go through our website straight to Beehiiv, the service that runs The Big Move newsletter. We do not keep a separate copy on this website. Beehiiv adds you to the newsletter, sends you a welcome email and notes that you signed up on The Big Move website. If you unsubscribed before, signing up again turns your subscription back on.

If the form is not working, you can sign up on the newsletter page on Beehiiv instead. The same details and the same terms apply.

Why we use your details

We use your email address, and your first name if you give it, only to send you The Big Move newsletter and updates from Tech Safari.

We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

Who handles your details

Beehiiv stores your details and sends our emails for us. It handles them under its own privacy policy (beehiiv.com/privacy).

Beehiiv is based in the United States, so your details are transferred there. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for that transfer.

How long we keep your details

We keep your details while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, we stop emailing you. We may keep a record that your email address has unsubscribed, so we do not email you again by mistake.

How to unsubscribe

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Use it at any time. You can also contact us at the address above and ask us to remove you.

People and stories on the site

Names, photos and stories of community members appear with their permission. If you appear on the site and want something changed or removed, contact us at the address above.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies for visitors, and the sign-up form does not use them. Sites we link to, such as Beehiiv, Luma and LinkedIn, may set their own when you visit them.

Links to other websites

Pages on this site link to Beehiiv, Luma, LinkedIn, the Talent Safari jobs board on Ashby and the Tech Safari website. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, including your sign-up details, to object to how we use it, or to withdraw your consent. To make a request, contact us at the address above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page if the website starts collecting anything new, and change the date at the top when we do.
